Requirements

To perform authentic Navaratri Durga Puja, gather these essential sacred materials with reverence and devotion. You’ll need clay or brass idols of Goddess Durga in her nine forms, a beautifully decorated pandal or sacred altar space, red chunari and new clothes for the Goddess, fresh flowers (especially red hibiscus and marigolds), incense sticks, camphor, diyas and oil lamps, kumkum, sandalwood paste, turmeric, Panchamrit for abhishekam, coconuts, betel leaves and nuts, assorted seasonal fruits, and traditional sweets like kheer and halwa. For each day’s specific goddess, prepare color-coordinated offerings – white, red, blue, yellow, green, grey, orange, peacock green, and purple. Additionally, arrange havan samagri, Durga Saptashati book for recitation, bell, conch shell, and items for Kanya Pujan (worshipping nine young girls) on Ashtami or Navami.
