Requirements

To perform an authentic Shiv Rudrabhishek, gather these essential sacred materials with devotion. You’ll need a Shivalinga (or Lord Shiva’s image), fresh Bel leaves (bilva patra) which are especially dear to Shiva, Dhatura flowers and Akand blooms, pure cow’s milk (unboiled), fresh yogurt, natural honey, pure ghee, and Gangajal (holy Ganges water). Prepare Panchamrit by mixing milk, curd, honey, sugar, and ghee together. Additionally, arrange sandalwood paste, vibhuti (sacred ash), Rudraksha mala for chanting, sugarcane juice or fresh fruit juices, camphor, incense sticks, rice grains, coconut, betel leaves and nuts, and aromatic oils. For a complete ceremony, you’ll also need havan samagri and a copper kalash. Important note: never use turmeric, kumkum, Tulsi leaves, or Champa flowers during Rudrabhishek as these are traditionally avoided in this particular worship.
