To perform an authentic Janmashtami Puja at home or online with Brahmlaxmi, you will need several sacred items. The centerpiece is a ‘Ladoo Gopal’ idol, placed in a beautifully decorated cradle (Jhula). Essential offerings include ‘Panchamrit’—a mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar—for the ritualistic bath (Abhishek). You will also need fresh yellow flowers, peacock feathers (Mor Pankh), sandalwood paste, incense, and a diya. Most importantly, prepare ‘Makhan-Mishri’ and ‘Chhapan Bhog’ (56 offerings) or simple milk-based sweets. Having a small bell, conch (Shankh), and yellow Vastras (clothes) for the Lord ensures a complete, traditional Vedic ceremony.
